Hyper Normalization
Hyper normalization is a collective break from reality. Technology once it is ubiquitous to the average citizen is a medium for mass hysteria and derangement from reality. Plato's thuth and thamos on the putting pen to paper rather than oral modality is an observation of mimetic control. A literate aristocracy is much more controllable and less volatile than a literate ill informed mass.
Another aspect of hyper normalization is that of styles of dress. There is no longer conformity or baseline of mainstream trend. Anything goes. Zoomers and younger yearn for a time that was always a moving target and yet never was, hence fast fashion as the pursuit of happiness never reaching a destination. Now stagnation, a freezing in time.
